Last week, junior Aubrey Tamez was chosen as one of the Student Board representatives making her the second student from Fremont to be part of the Student Board. Inter-district Council representative Susan Lee, a senior, said, "It is an extremely prestigious position which takes a lot of responsibility."

The residents of Sunnyvale have long awaited the rebuilding and reconstruction of what is known as "Downtown Sunnyvale." But for the past several years there has been a vast area of empty space, occupied solely by Target and Macy's.

Every student, with the exception of seniors, at Fremont High is able to groan at the thought of STAR testing. Is it just another standardized test the students must take, and where is the significance of this test explained? Most students around campus could not answer that question, because the answer was never explained to them.

Students can obtain a greater future when they do well on the SATs and/or ACT. Students who obtain good scores on the SAT or ACT not only have the ability to attend a better college and are more qualified--they are highly respected as well.
